Chamomile and cinnamon regulate blood sugar levels
Ingredients such as chamomile and cinnamon have great healing properties to help fight diabetes.
They are a source of compounds that lower blood sugar levels. They are also great at treating indigestion, problems with cholesterol and the circulatory system.
Chamomile and its properties
Chamomile is – in natural medicine – one of the most frequently used flowers. It was proven some time ago that it is great for type 2 diabetes because it prevents sudden spikes in blood sugar levels.
According to research published by Nutrition magazine, its great effect is due to the presence of an antioxidant called quercetin.
This component delays the absorption of glucose in the intestines and prevents it from reaching the bloodstream too rapidly. To reach this type of conclusion, the study was conducted on 64 people with type 2 diabetes.
Some of them drank chamomile for 8 weeks after each meal. It has been proven that in their case the level of glucose was much lower.
Properties of cinnamon
This spice – so often used in the kitchen – is an excellent medicine for diabetics. It contains compounds capable of activating the most important enzymes that stimulate cells and make them respond better to insulin.
But it is not everything! Cinnamon speeds up the digestion of sugars and helps turn them into energy.
