What to remember when making a cake from a microwave oven

Preparation of the microwave oven

Before using the microwave oven for any type of recipe, it should be pre-prepared to improve the cooking process and, above all, to obtain the best possible end result.

Microwave cakes, where to start?
  • Clean the microwave
  • Choose a time range, power, and location.
  • Choose the right cooking materials. Select equipment that is suitable for use in microwave ovens, such as pottery, paper towels, and specially adapted baking films and bags

Choosing the right ingredients

In stores, we can find countless ingredients that can be used for cooking and baking.

However, if we prepare cakes from the microwave, we should use products with certain characteristics:

  • They should be able to fully cook in less than 5 minutes.
  • The ingredients after baking should have a spongy texture.
  • For health reasons, the ingredients should be low in calories.

How to bake cakes from the microwave

To prepare delicious microwave cakes, you only need a few ingredients and the right utensils.

Microwave cake recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of pure cocoa or cooking chocolate (30 g)
  • ½ tablespoons of butter at room temperature (10 g)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons of warm milk (30 ml)
  • 3 tablespoons of self-rising flour or all-purpose flour (45 g)
  • 1 pinch of baking powder

Gear

  • 2 microwave-safe dishes
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • 1 scoop

Preparation

  • First, make baking chocolate or cocoa. Using a spoon or measuring cup, measure out 30 g.
  • Then melt the chocolate in the microwave, about 40 seconds, in one of the dishes.
  • Add the butter to the chocolate and stir until the mass is homogeneous.
  • Once mixed, add the eggs and milk to it. Stir constantly to maintain proper consistency.
  • Sift the flour, sugar and baking powder into the second dish.
  • Mix the dry ingredients together to add to the chocolate mixture later. Gently mix all ingredients.
  • If you are using disposable utensils, cut three holes at the bottom of each one: this will help circulate air and steam in the cookware.

Thanks to this, our dough will be nice and spongy.

  • Divide the mass evenly and pour into the dishes, filling them halfway so that all the cakes are of the same size. They should have enough space to grow without spilling over the edges.

Baking cake from the microwave

Ready dessert
  • To bake a cake, select the microwave power first.
  • It should not be baked for more than one and a half or two minutes at medium power. After cooking, take them out of the oven.
  • Then turn them over, but do not remove them from the pan and let them cool for 3 minutes. This technique retains heat in the pan and cake.

In this way, the cake will continue to cook after removing it from the microwave. Another advantage of using this technique in these types of recipes is that it prevents overcooking.

  • Finally, after the dough has rested for a predetermined amount of time, take it out of the pan.

And you have a chocolate dessert ready in just a few minutes.
